Howe 'Bout Bionic Bob

Bionic Bob grew up in Washington, DC, his father in classified electronic intelligence for the military, so no opportunity to discuss that career.  Instead he picked just a few of his Dad’s other interests:  tennis, the stock market, and health & prevention.  He played in the high school nationals, studied economics at Yale and finance at Harvard Business School, worked since graduation picking stocks and managing portfolios for clients and now teaching students in Honolulu how to do the same, at the AKAMAI Finance Academy, www.akamaifinanceacademy.org.  

Health and prevention interests came to the fore when he moved to Hong Kong to manage Asian portfolios, and his new wife suffered some serious health issues, western medicine recommending a hysterectomy, which would mean no kids of their own.  Instead, they looked to natural and alternative medicine:  nutrition and supplements, and those protocols saved the uterus.  We started with the Pharmanex nutritional supplements from Nu Skin, the only supplement line in the Physicians Desk Reference, clinical trials of safety and efficacy.  Wife Lia soon added the Nu Skin personal/skin care to her regimen, as her expensive name brands were not handling Hong Kong heat, humidity, and pollution at all well.  We are “all of the good, none of the bad,” “the difference demonstrated.” 

We were, like 90% of Nu Skin members, just customers, wanting to look and feel our best.  Our story goes:

We stay for the community.

But in 2008 the global financial crisis upended Bob’s finances. He had left big corporate and was working in his own small company in Hong Kong.  He performed fine through it all, but clients panicked and redeemed, and the business started losing a lot of money.

Not wanting to limp back into corporate life, and knowing Nu Skin could pay those who worked it ethically and well as much as Finance, Bob built that business around Asia. Now he is focused more on the United States, after moving from Hong Kong to Honolulu, has added the Lifewave stem cell patches to his quiver of health.
